Just What the Spirit Ordered

Posted by Meredith Griffin on September 7, 2008

What a day today! This ministry has been through some trying times lately, and today was a much needed time of refreshing. Everyone seemed energized for our first official combined service, both Harvest Christian Fellowship and New Hope Wesleyan.

Many ministry members and workers were full of energy and excitement as we prepared for our inaugural 10 a.m. worship service. Let me say that God didn’t disappoint! Praise and worship was extremely effective at ushering in the presence of the Lord. The music was great. Just one more Sunday before our new director of worship begins.

We completed our six week sermon series on The Essentials for Maximum Impact, a series gleaned from the Hybels/Mittleburg book, Becoming A Contagious Christian. True to form, several members were already putting the teaching into action, inviting neighbors and co-workers to service. We ended our fellowship together celebrating the Lord’s Supper. The Spirit of the Lord was with us today.

It never ceases to amaze me how on time God is. Just when you are called by Him to make a series of ministry and life-altering decisions, He confirms that you are in His will with days like today. The Lord never promised that the narrow way was the easy way, but He did promise that we need not walk it alone. To God be the glory!
